Jason Petras
Jason Petras is a Greek artist born in Thessaloniki who studied fine arts. His artistic journey began with music at a young age, followed by visual arts in high school through graffiti experimentation, and at eighteen, he applied to the fine arts school to develop his drawing skills. He practices in charcoal, pencil, graphite, pastel, acrylic, and oil paints. Portraits and figures inspire him the most, as he believes the portrait reveals the inner soul, true feelings, and sensitive side of a being. He uses reference photos as a starting point but adds, removes, or changes elements based on what he wants to express while staying true to the characteristics of the face. His work aims to recreate beautiful moments and imagine stories behind portraits, believing every person has a story to tell.
