Teresa Spellman Gamble is an abstract painter working in acrylic and mixed media, whose layered canvases grow from reflection, encounters with the natural world, travel, and the contradictions of lived experience. Through an intuitive process of adding, scraping back, concealing, and revealing, she builds surfaces where saturated color carries emotional weight and buried marks continue to shape the finished image. Her work absorbs the light and water of the Pacific Northwest and the heat and open skies of Southern California without depicting either directly. She came to painting after decades in leadership, family, community, and public service, and she directs half of her art sales to nonprofit organizations.
