Baokang Zhao

Baokang Zhao, born in Shanghai in 1953, is a renowned artist known for his exploration of historical themes, material experimentation, and conceptual painting. A graduate of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, he later taught at the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts before moving to Australia as a freelance artist in 1997. His works merge historical narratives with contemporary reflections, often employing mixed media to question power, ideology, and perception.
